Self-Knowledge in the Teresian Carmelite Tradition

Presented by members of the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites of San Antonio.

St. Teresa of Jesus teaches in her book, The Interior Castle (1577), that because we are made in His image and likeness, God dwells within each of us, and it is through prayer and prayerful self-reflection of who we are in relation to God that will set us on the right course.

After a brief overview of The Interior Castle, we will explore how the practice of self-reflection and the virtue of humility relate to self-knowledge and why it is vital to both our prayer and spiritual growth throughout our lifetime.

Saturday, August 12, 2023 9am to 12pm at the Little Flower Parish Hall, 907 Kentucky Ave.

These Lectures and Workshops are intended to assist participants in establishing and navigating an Interior Life based on the tradition of Teresian Prayer. We will focus on seeking and encountering God in prayer and encouraging the faithful in true friendship with God. These Lectures and Workshops are offered free of charge however, we gratefully accept donations.
