Carmel’s Vineyard Vocation Ministry
Introducing the Traveling Infant Jesus of Prague
We are pleased to introduce a new prayer ministry for vocations to our parish community: "The Traveling Infant Jesus of Prague."
Through the intercession of the Infant Jesus, we offer our prayers for an increase in vocations to the Discalced Carmelite family, especially priests, cloistered nuns, and members of the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites (OCDS).
Parishioners are invited to welcome the Traveling Infant Jesus into their homes for one week. Prayers will be provided to assist families or individuals in this spiritual commitment. Through this simple yet meaningful vocation ministry, we unite our prayers for those whom God may be calling to serve His Church through the Discalced Carmelite way of life.
By taking the Infant Jesus into your home and praying faithfully each day, you become part of our parish’s effort to foster a culture of prayer and support for vocations within the Discacled Carmelite Order.
We warmly invite you to sign up to participate in and support this ministry.
May the Infant Jesus bless our families and inspire many generous hearts to respond to His call.
This ministry is open to registered parishioners. If you are not a registered parishioner, we encourage you to register here:
Lord, You told us that “The harvest indeed is great but the laborers are few. Pray, therefore, the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into His fields.” We ask You to strengthen us as we follow the vocation to which You have called us. We pray particularly for those called to serve as priests, sisters, brothers, and deacons: Those whom You have called, Those You are calling now, Those You will call in the future. May they be open and responsive to the call of serving Your people. We ask this through Christ Our Lord.
We invite our parishioners to pray for Vocations for the Carmelite Order and for the consecration of the family to our Lord for divine guidance and love to foster a deeper relationship with God and with each other.
Is God calling you to the Discalced Carmelites?
So I say now that all of us who wear this holy habit of Carmel are called to prayer and contemplation. This call explains our origin; we are the descendants of men who felt this call, of those holy fathers on Mount Carmel who in such great solitude…sought this treasure, this precious pearl of contemplation.
- St. Teresa of Jesus, Doctor of the Church
