Restoration news: Spring 2023

Greetings in our Lord Jesus Christ!

Let me begin by thanking those of you who contributed to our annual Cornerstone of Giving Appeal! Such gifts are essential to the continued functioning of your Basilica.

I am pleased to announce that the Discalced Carmelite Friars have selected Paul Garro as our new Chief Development & External Relations Officer. Mr. Garro was educated in the Catholic tradition from kinder through college. During his formation, he was deeply influenced by serving some of the most marginal and vulnerable people in our human condition. Mr. Garro’s spirituality is manifested in vibrant murals around the San Antonio community which evoke joy in God’s abounding blessings.

Working to achieve sustainable impact in San Antonio, Mr. Garro has played a role in numerous large scale projects such as the U.S. Department of Education's Promise Neighborhood Initiative. Paul will bring that experience to the Little Flower family as an integral part of Little Flower Administration leadership.

We look forward to collaborating with Paul in his new position to lead the Province in developing and executing a comprehensive, strategic development and communications plan to secure resources and strategic partnerships in support of the friars and our goals.

Stay tuned for more updates on our progress in programming and restoration in the coming year!

Fraternally in Christ,

Fr. Gregory Ross,

Pastor & Rector of Little Flower Basilica
