The Poetry of St. Thérèse
Special Guest Speaker: Fr. Donald Kinney, OCD
Fr. Donald Kinney is a Discalced Carmelite friar and priest of the Province of St. Joseph. His translations of St. Thérèse’s poetry can be found in The Poetry of Saint Therese of Lisieux. Of translating her poems he wrote: The poetry of St. Thérèse, so simple, fresh, and pure, is particularly challenging to render into another language. But I have wanted to take this risk because her poetry reveals wonderful new aspects of her life and thought, which English-speaking readers might otherwise miss.
